First Reactions to Screening of Suicide Squad Good
On friday night Suicide Squad had its first test screening at Century 25 theaters in Union City, California. Many of the lucky filmgoers that saw the film didn’t spend too much time getting on the Twittersphere afterwards to praise it.
This will certainly come as good news to DC as they continue to lag behind their Marvel rivals. Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice garnered many negative reviews (a bit unfairly I think, but I digress) and the public’s love in with Marvel continues to go from strength-to-strength. It’s well overdue for DC to not only exceed box office expectations but to also have a big critical success on their hands. Suicide Squad could very well be that film.
Slated for full release on August 4th for the rest of us not quite so lucky to get an advanced screening, we still have a ways to go until we get to see the likes of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jared Leto as the latest incarnation of Mr. J, Will Smith as Deadshot as well as some possible bat related fun and games as the mayhem ensues.
Here are the tweets from some of the lucky ones that have seen it :

#SuicideSquad was the best movie I’ve seen. Just insane. I was skeptical of Cara Delevingne acting but she was pretty good.

This is of course a very small group to take a sample from but for one of the more “out there” films coming from DC this year it’s good to hear the first impressions are so positive. Now to find out for ourselves if August would be kind and hurry up and get here.
